Chris Johnston of Sportsnet: The NHL sent a memo to all teams outlining the players that would currently have to be protected for the June expansion draft. There are 66 players that must be protected. The Calgary Flames, San Jose Sharks, St. Louis Blues and Washington Capitals currently don’t have any players that must be protected.
