Katie Strang of Newsday: The New York Islanders have fired coach Scott Gordon. Gordon will remain with the team as an advisor to GM Garth Snow. Bridgeport (AHL) coach Jack Capuano will be the interim head coach.
The Islanders have lost 10 in a row and are dead last in the Eastern Conference with 11 points (4-10-3). Gordon was 64-94-23 as the head coach of the Islanders.
