On the Pittsburgh Penguins …

Pens Inside Scoop: Coach Mike Sullivan of Sidney Crosby: “We don’t have any updates on our injured guys. They’ll be evaluated overnight. We’ll go from there.”

Tom Gulitti: Sullivan wouldn’t say if Crosby has an upper- or lower-body injury.

Sam Werner: The Penguins are scheduled to practice today at 12:15 today, so there might be a bit of updated on Crosby and Conor Sheary.

On the Anaheim Ducks …

Eric Stephens: Coach Randy Carlyle didn’t rule out Patrick Eaves for Game 4. Will be evaluated again today.

Kevin Baxter and Helene Elliott: Forward Patrick Eaves had a walking boot on his right foot yesterday. Eaves only had three shifts in the third period and wasn’t on the ice for the final 8 1/2 minutes.

Coach Randy Carlyle wouldn’t say what the results of the evaluation were.

“We don’t really have much more to say until we get another evaluation, another 24 hours away,” he said after the team’s optional skate at Prospera Place in Kelowna, Canada, the Ducks’ rest-and-recreation site before Game 4 on Wednesday.

“The assessment has already been done from our standpoint, but what’s going to take place is, with all of these injuries, the first 24 hours is critical, the response to the treatment that he receives today, and then we’ll make an assessment on whether he skates for practice or not.”

Defenseman Kevin Bieksa skated yesterday.

“Things are progressing nicely,” Bieksa said. “To get on the ice is an important step and we’ll see how it goes from there.”

On the Minnesota Wild …

Michael Russo of the Star Tribune: Defenseman Christian Folin had arthroscopic surgery on is right shoulder to repair a labral tear. Folin suffered a shoulder injury back in March. He’s expected to be ready for the start of training camp.
