NHL Injury notes
Richard Morin: Arizona Coyotes forward Lawson Crouse is day-to-day with an upper-body injury.
Chris Kuc: Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Calvin de Haan will be off for a couple of days to see how his groin issue feels. Coach Jeremy Colliton thinks he’s close.
Ben Pope: Blackhawks coach Colliton doesn’t think that Kirby Dach will play on Thursday. They want him to get a full-intensity practice before getting back into the lineup.
Ben Pope: Blackhawks defenseman Connor Murphy seems optimistic about playing on Thursday.
Adrian Dater: Colorado Avalanche forward Nazem Kadri has a sore foot but should be able to play in their next game.
Adrian Dater: Avs coach Jared Bednar said that Ian Cole is rehabbing faster than expected. He has been cleared. He was originally supposed to be out until December.
Brian Hedger: Columbus Blue Jackets forward Josh Anderson missed last night’s game and is day-to-day with an upper-body injury.
Ansar Khan: The Detroit Red Wings have placed Andreas Athanasiou, Frans Nielsen, Trevor Daley and Jonathan Ericsson on the IR and recalled Evgeny Svechnikov, Ryan Kuffner, Oliwer Kaski and Alex Biega from the AHL.
Mike Morreale: New Jersey Devils coach John Hynes on Cory Schneider yesterday after practice: “He looked good today in practice. Physically he seems fine. They had a day off yesterday so I would anticipate he should be fine, but we’ll know more , obviously, but all points in that direction (to him playing Wed).”
Brian Heyman: New York Islanders coach Barry Trotz on forward Casey Cizikas who didn’t practice due to a lower-body issue: “It’s a maintenance thing where you play and it just gets irritated a little bit. We’ll be doing this until it’s fully healed.”
Pittsburgh Penguins: The Penguins put Evgeni Malkin and Nick Bjugstad on the IR and recalled forwards Sam Lafferty and Andrew Agozzino on an emergency basis.
- Darren Dreger: Evgeni Malkin will be out for at least a month with a soft tissue leg injury.
Curtis Pashelka: San Jose Sharks defenseman Tim Heed has an upper-body injury.
- Kevin Kurz: Heed was hurt in their second game against the Golden Knights. He’s out today but it is not expected to be a long-term injury.
Ken Wiebe: Winnipeg Jets defenseman Josh Morrissey is able to return to the lineup after missing Sunday’s game with an upper-body injury.
Ken Wiebe: Jets coach Paul Maurice said that forward Bryan Little (concussion) is progressing but won’t play .
