NHL Injury Notes
Sabres PR: Buffalo Sabres forward Conor Sheary is now week-to-week with an upper-body injury.
Mark Lazerus: Chicago Blackhawks coach Jeremy Colliton couldn’t say if defenseman Connor Murphy will be in the lineup tonight or not. Signs are pointing towards him being able to play .
It seems unlikely that defenseman Calvin de Haan will play.
Charlie Roumeliotis: de Haan didn’t practice yesterday and Murphy was paired with Slater Koekkoek on the third pairing.
Mike Chambers: Colorado Avalanche forward J.T. Compher (lower-body) is out tonight. Coach Jared Bednar said he hasn’t skated in four days.
Pens Inside Scoop: Pittsburgh Penguins forwards Patric Hornqvist and Alex Galchenyuk are both day-to-day with lower-body injuries according to coach Mike Sullivan.
Jeremy Rutherford: St. Louis Blues coach Craig Berube on Robert Thomas and his upper-body injury. He practiced yesterday: “He was alright. He’s not ready tomorrow yet, but he was better. It was good news. It’s good he’s out there in practice, at least, and it’s getting better. It’s just about him feeling good. We want to make sure he’s 100.”
Danny Webster: Vegas Golden Knights coach Gerard Gallant said that Cody Eakin is still day-to-day. He started skating but they aren’t sure when he’ll return to the lineup.
SinBin.Vegas: Gallant also said that William Karlsson is dealing with an injury that is limiting the number for faceoffs he’s able to take. They are working through the issue.
Samantha Pell: Washington Capitals coach Todd Reiden said that defenseman Michal Kempny (hamstring) isn’t available for tonight.
Kempny is traveling with the team and they aren’t sure if he’ll be ready for Saturday.
Samantha Pell: Reiden said that defenseman Dmitry Orlov left practice early yesterday with a lower-body issue. They do expect him to be able to play tonight though.
Ken Wiebe: There won’t be an update on Winnipeg Jets defenseman Josh Morrissey until later this morning.
