NHL Rumors: St. Louis Blues, and the Utah Mammoth
Anthony Stewart: “Between the Blues Rangers and the Canucks all teams are rumoured to be ‘ sellers’ at the deadline. Which one of those three can you see being the most active.”
Dave Pagnotta: “St Louis would have liked to have been already, but they just haven’t been able to see to make those bigger deals work. But certainly St. Louis is up there. And the Rangers, in addition to Artemi Panarin, Vincent Trocheck, they’re listening on other guys. They’ve obviously moved Carson Soucy. Braden Schneider has generated interest. I reported last week. San Jose is one of the teams that like him there. You have other pieces there.
St. Louis, almost, you name it, they’ll listen on. I think Justin Faulk is generating, and has been generating a little more attention after the (Rasmus) Andersson trade. I don’t know if Boston circles in that direction because they were right there trying to get Andersson. Could it be Dallas? Because they’re still looking at the right side. Seems like that’s what they think every year is to bring in somebody for that right side. So we can certainly see that.
NHL Rumors: Vancouver Canucks, Toronto Maple Leafs, and the Detroit Red Wings
And then, of course, Vancouver, yeah, the Canucks. We know all about the Evander Kane talk this week. It’s real, and I reported that they’re willing to retain his salary, but at the same time, they’re looking for an asset coming back in terms of a prospect or a draft pick. So we’ll see kind of how they navigate those waters. but they’re listing on all their other guys too.
Conor Garland, who has a no-trade clause, kicks in July 1st. Jake DeBrusk, who is in the middle of his contract, has a no-trade, no-movement clause at the moment. Drew O’Connor has got another year on his contract. Teddy Blueger as well, out there, and so on and so on. And of course. Elias Pettersson, it certainly seems like some of the guys that they have on no movement clauses may not be considered at this point.
Tyler Myers, Marcus Pettersson and Filip Hronek. I’m not expecting to be moved and Brock Boeser up front. But it sounds like they might be exploring pretty much everybody else if the right offer presents itself.”
