Michael Drapack of CBC: Steve Moore’s civil suit against Todd Bertuzzi is expected to start on Sept. 8th 2014 and last about three months. Moore filed the suit in 2006, and is looking for $38 million. The case was to start last year, but the deadline was missed as it was learned of a secret deal between Bertuzzi and Orca Bay (Canucks owners). An appeal to keep the details of the agreement quiet was lost. Deal was to share the costs if they lost the case.
Darren Dreger of TSN: Linesmen are now allowed to jump in and break up a possible fight if two players take off their helmets. If it is deemed safe to do so.
Tim Panaccio of CSN Philly: Flyers defenseman Kimmo Timonen was taken off their top power play unit. Timonen has struggled this season and is coming off a lower-body injury.
