  • Andy Strickland of True Hockey: A deal between Kevin Shattenkirk and the Blues is imminent. Source saying it’s for four years and around $17 million. (Update: deal done, 4 years, $17 million, $4.25 million cap hit.)
  • Josh Rimer: The Capitals re-sign Joel Rechlicz to a one-year, two-way deal.
  • Bob McKenzie: McKenzie estimates that about 18 teams will likely not make compliance buyouts.
  • Sarah Baicker: Flyers owner Ed Snider on Ilya Bryzgalov: “It was a very difficult decision from a financial standpoint, but if Bryz remained a Flyer, the dollars would be far greater in a shorter timeframe. We now have cap space, which will allow us to improve our team”
  • Josh Rimer: Rimer is hearing that the Flyers have held discussions with Sabres about Ryan Miller. The Flyers are definitely up to something.
  • Shawn Hutcheon: Hearing the Bruins won’t be re-signing Andrew Ference and could be looking to trade Rich Peverley and Johnny Boychuk.
  • Fluto Shinzawa: Bruins Jay Pandolfo is leaning towards retiring.
  • Dan Rosen: Bruins Patrice Bergeron has been under observation at a hospital since Game 6. Boston Globe: It was revealed that Bergeron played with a broken rib, torn cartilage, a separated shoulder that occurred in Game 6 and has a small hole in his lung according to GM Peter Chiarelli. They think the punctured happened after Monday’s game.Chiarelli confirmed that it’s unlikely that Andrew Ference returns, the same for Jaromir Jagr. Nathan Horton will require shoulder surgery.
