Ducks roster moves
Cap Friendly: Roster moves made by the Ducks yesterday.
RECALLED – Korbinian Holzer and Jake Dotchin
REASSIGNED – Troy Terry, Max Jones, Sam Carrick, Andy Welinski, Jacob Larsson and Andrej Sustr
ACTIVATED OFF IR – Jakob Silfverberg
A Trade that didn’t happen
Frank Seravalli: “From Chiarelli file, one trade that didn’t happen: 2016 Draft. #Flames wanted to flip picks to ensure either Tkachuk or Keller. Believe offer from CGY was Backlund and Wideman to flip picks plus a 2nd rd’r from EDM. I think #Oilers we’re really interested in Sergachev.
Always fun (torturous?) to play “what if?” game if you’re #Oilers or #Canucks fan. If #CBJ take Puljujarvi at 3 like some assumed, Sergachev maybe goes to Oil at 4, Dubois to VAN at 5, then CGY & ARI still end up with Tkachuk and Keller 6/7. Who knows? Hindsight 20/20, of course.”
Blackhawks and Kings make a minor trade
Cap Friendly: The Los Angeles Kings traded the rights to forward Dominik Kubalik to the Chicago Blackhawks for a 2019 5th round pick. (pick originally belonging to the Coyotes)
John Hoven: “Kings just traded a 2013 seventh round pick (who was essentially forgotten about by most because the player had made it nearly impossible to get him over here) into a fifth round pick. That’s free money. Thoughts? Smart asset mgmt Now what can they get for Patrik Bartosak?”
John Hoven: “Getting Kubalik to N. America had been something short of a nightmare for LA. From what we’ve gathered over time, there were moments in recent yrs where they believed he was cleared to begin his pro career here. Then, one hurdle after another. They scouted him, but had enough.”
LA Kings: Kubalik is playing for HC Ambri-Piotta of the Swiss league and leading his team in scoring with 15 goals and 25 assists for 43 points in 36 games.
