  • Dmitry Chesnokov of Yahoo’s Puck Daddy Blog: Chesnokov interviewed Alex Ovechkin over the weekend and Ovie had this to say:

    Q. You’re in good mood. Are you getting better?
OVECHKIN: I am better. But I will miss 4-5 weeks.

This was news to the Capitals who denied the report:

“The Washington Capitals dispute the validity of this report,” the team told ESPN.com’s Pierre LeBrun.

  • Steve Zipay of the Newsday: Brandon Dubinsky of the New York Rangers may be out from up to 3 weeks with a broken bone in his right hand.
  • Rob Rossi of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review: The Pittsburgh Penguins are already without Sergei Gonchar, may be without Kris Letang. Letang fell on his right side during the 1st period of Saturday’s game, and did not return, leaving the ice favoring his right arm. He’ll be re-evaluated today.
