The St. Louis Blues have traded goalie Ben Bishop to the Ottawa Senators for a 2013 2nd round pick.
- Bob McKenzie via twitter: The Senators signed him to a 1 year, 1-way contract.
- Darren Pang via twitter: Blues GM Doug Armstrong had talks with a few teams regarding Bishop, but wasn’t going to give him away from a mid round pick.
- Elliotte Friedman via twitter: “Bishop must play at least 30 minutes in 17 games, or he will be unrestricted.” (doesn’t matter now that he’s signed)
- Cory Pronman via twitter: On Bishop: “Huge man with limited in net mobility. Good technique and doesnt panic. Scouts see him as an Nhler. IMO he’s a backup.”
