Kevin Paul Dupont of the Boston Globe: The Bruins are struggling and GM Peter Chiarelli may not have much of a choice but to make some changes to his roster. They are currently last in the Eastern Conference. In an email Chiarelli said that he’s “diligently” calling other teams to see what’s available. He is likely looking for scoring help. Benoit Pouliot and Jordan Caron were given the opportunity to replace Michael Ryder and Mark Recchi, but neither one has a point. David Krejci, Milan Lucic and Nathan Horton have struggled. They may have trouble finding a team that is eager to help out the defending Stanley Cup Champions. Dupont mentions Kyle Turris, but notes that he’d need at least 2 weeks of training before he’d be in game shape.
Tom Gulitti of the Bergon Record: Devils GM Lou Lamoriello confirmed that 2011 1st round pick Adam Larsson will remain with the team. Since Larsson has played 2 years in the Swedish Elite League, he is eligible to be sent to the AHL at any point during the season.
Adrian Dater via twitter: Gabriel Landeskog will remain with the Avalanche, and will carry a $3.575 million cap hit. His cap hit is important as they needed it to stay about the salary floor. He has 4 goals in 9 games, and is playing on the 3rd line with Ryan O’Reilly and Daniel Winnik.
Eric Stephens of the OC Register: Ducks forward Jason Blake is recovering from tendon damage to his left wrist, and hopes to begin the rehab process soon. “You like to think you’re a fast healer if you put the time in off the ice as much as you can to rehabilitate your hand and try to get your strength back,” Blake said. “Hopefully you can come back sooner. That’s my goal. “Obviously I’d like to be playing the first week of January. If that’s feasible, I don’t know.”

Randy Sportak of the Calagary Sun: Flames forward Matt Stajan might be back in the lineup tonight after being a healthy scratch against the Avs. He was practicing between Tim Jackman and Tom Kostopoulos. Stajan is in the 2nd year of a 4 year, $14 million deal. Flames coach Brent Sutter may go with 11 forwards and 7 defenseman again, which may mean that Stajan sits again.
