- CHRIS NEIL A FREE AGENT — Chris Neil is unrestricted, at 30 years old, and looking for what will likely be his last significant contract. Though he doesn’t have much touch around the net, he is one of the more skilled tough guys in the league, skates well, plays hard every night and plays the right way. He has averaged 184 PIMS’s and 74 games the past 5 seasons. I expect him to sign a 3 or 4 year deal, and as TSN points out, he may have already declined a 4 yr $6.8mm deal. Though not a Senators fan, i have always enjoyed watching Neil and think he will be a great asset to which ever team he signs with.
