Adrian Dater via twitter: Paul Stastny suffered a back injury last night, his status for tonight is not known yet, but it’s not looking good.
Andy Strickland of True Hockey: Sources are saying that Blues forward David Perron will not attempt to return this year. Perron hasn’t gotten past light workouts and isn’t close to getting back on the ice. The team hasn’t announced he’s done for the year, but sources are telling Strickland that is the case. Darren Pang via twitter: “There’s no official shut down of Blues David Perron. Plenty of games left for GM Doug Armstrong and staff to divide that.”
Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer: Chris Pronger chewed out teammate Claude Giroux after a team’s win this past week. “Nobody likes the way we’ve been playing, and it just came to a head in that particular instance, I’m sure,” said Holmgren. “Just got to get on the same page. I’m assuming you’re talking about Chris and Claude, right? Claude Giroux wants to win, but sometimes he needs to hear from the older guys on the team that this is how it’s done.” Holmgren added: “I don’t think it’s bad. Claude, maybe he didn’t like being spoken to like that, but I think he understands what’s being said to him, and he’ll benefit from that.” Pronger is questionable for tonight’s game with a hand injury he suffered blocking a shot.
Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News: Brad Richards after his 1st game back after his concussion, “I felt all right, but it wasn’t how I felt in the middle of the season when I was on form,” Richards said. “But I had to get that one out of the way and I’ll probably have to get another one or two out of the way before I get back to feeling good.” “I was probably looking over my shoulder too much, but that will go away once I get used to the game,” Richards said. “I felt that, as the game went on, I was more comfortable holding onto the puck, and I think I’ll look to take more chances as I go forward. It’s confidence, really, knowing you’re going to get hit but also knowing you’re going to be fine.”
