Chris Kuc and Brian Hamilton of the Chicago Tribune: David Bolland has been out since March 9th with a concussion, could return tonight. “We’re optimistic (Bolland) could play,” Quenneville said Monday. “He’s been waiting a long time to get back in the lineup. Based on the timing, he’s ready to play. He wants to play. You have to like his competitive spirit. The bottom line is, he’ll do anything he can to be part of the team again.”
David Pollak of the San Jose Mercury News: Sharks defenseman Ian White felt much better yesterday and is hoping to get the green light from trainers. Coach Todd McLellan anticipates that White will be in the lineup. JP Hoornstra of the LA Daily News: Jarret Stoll, who was suspended for 1 game for hitting Ian White, reached out to him over the weekend. “We just chatted a couple times,” Stoll said. “He appreciated the text and me reaching out to him. I wanted to make sure I did that, let him know I didn’t want to hurt him in any way.”
Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution: Thrashers forward Andrew Ladd on whether contract negotiations will be easier to get done with the season being over, “I don’t know. We’ve been working on it for awhile. For me, I want to be here. I’m committed to being a part of this and getting it to where it needs to be. I love the group. I love the city. I want to be here so I’m sure we’ll get something done.”
Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch: UFA Mathieu Garon’s agent and the Blue Jackets talked 2 weeks ago, and agreed to talk again closer to July 1st. GM Scott Howson may be under pressure this summer to make some changes, and it could involve Steve Mason. The Jackets do hope that Mason can get back to his rookie form, and away from his play the last 2 seasons. The Flyers showed interest in him in February, but the Blue Jackets were still looking to make the playoffs.
