- Janis Carr of the OC Register: The Ducks will be without Corey Perry for three to four weeks with a sprained left knee. He should be able to return during their homestand that starts on New Year’s Eve against the Sharks.

- Lance Pugmire: John Gibson practiced today and will see how he is tomorrow. Not sure on when he’ll return.
- Eric Stephens: The Ducks sign Ilya Bryzgalov to a one-year deal worth $2.88 million.
- James Mirtle: Bryzgalov will be sent to the AHL on a conditioning stint, then will be recalled.
- Dennis Bernstein: Bryzgalov will have a higher salary and cap hit than Frederik Andersen, John Gibson and Jason LaBarbera combined.
