- Chip Alexander of the Raleigh News & Observer: Eric Staal has now joined Alex Ovechkin in the ‘week-to-week’ injury category. The Canes have really struggled this season with Staal in the lineup, and could be in even more trouble with out him. Cam Ward will need to step it up to keep his team in the games as their have even more trouble scoring.
- Staff at the Denver Post: The KHL’s Ak Bars Kazan are trying to convince Peter Forsberg to sign with them. The Philadelphia Flyers, Montreal Canadiens, Washington Capitals and Colorado Avalanche are reportedly interested in signing Forsberg as well.
- Wes Gilbertson of the Calgary Sun: If at first fails, try, and try, and try, again. Jarome Iginla and Olli Jokinen may find themselves as linemates again when the Flames face the Stars tonight.
- Mark Medina of the LA Times: Alexander Frolov missed yesterday’s practice, and is questionable for tonight’s game due to a sore hip flexor.
