- Nick Kypreos: Kypreos is hearing that Kings goalie Jonathan Bernier will be traded sooner than later, and that the Flyers and Maple Leafs could be the front-runners. The Flyers if they decided to buyout Ilya Brygalov and there is the Leiweke-LA link for the Leafs.
- Tim Panaccio of CSN Philly: The Flyers were one of 12 teams that Kings GM Dean Lombardi has contacted about Bernier. The Kings source said,
“Basically, we’re running an auction,” the source said.
The Flyers might offer Matt Read, as the Kings are said to be looking for help on the wing.
- Arthur Staple of Newsday: The Islanders are said to be in the mix for Bernier according to sources.
- Sam Carchidi: Thinks that a 1st and Sean Couturier is too much for Jonathan Bernier, but Couturier for Bernier would be tempting, especially with Scott Laughton close.
