- Helene Elliott: Ducks defenseman Francois Beauchemin said he’s on schedule to return from his ACL injury and is hoping to be ready for the opener. He added that he’ll play with a brace on his right knee.
- Tim Panaccio: Flyers Mark Alt said he’s feeling “no symptoms” from his concussion.
- Sam Carchidi: When asked if the Flyers will make a trade soon: after the health of their blueline is known, may happen in about two weeks.
- Kevin Kurz of CSN Bay Area: Sharks winger Martin Havlat won’t be ready opening night according to GM Doug Wilson, but should return from pelvic reconstruction surgery at some point during the season. Havlat has a different opinion:
“If there were a game tomorrow, I’d want to be in it. And I would be playing. Feels great right now.”
- Lisa Dillman of the LA Times: Kings Jarret Stoll suffered a seizure back on July 3rd and was skating a few weeks after.
“I wish I have a little bit of an explanation,” Stoll said Wednesday. “Nothing really. Even with the concussion in the playoffs, I thought maybe those were connected. But they weren’t. That’s the good news, I guess.”
“It took about three weeks to see doctors,” he said. “I went to Seattle to see doctors there. Got great care here. Everything looks normal, 100%. Just for peace of mind, I guess. I feel good. I feel healthy.”
