Injury notes: Brodeur, Hossa, Krejci, Havlat, Kennedy, Quincey, Helm and Bertuzzi

  • Rich Chere of the Star-Ledger: Devils Martin Brodeur said he should be ready to start on Thursday, but may end up dressing as the backup.
  • Tracey Myers of CSN Chicago: Marian Hossa left last night’s game in first period after taking a hit along the boards. Coach Joel Quenneville said “not bad, day to day,” and that more will be known today.
  • Steve Conroy of the Boston Herarld: Bruins David Krejci’s status is not known after he took a shot off the knee on Sunday. He did leave the arena with a slight limp, but didn’t appear to have brace on.
  • David Pollak via twitter: Sharks Martin Havlat has been activated from the IR. Tim Kennedy has been placed on the IR.
  • Ted Kulfan via twitter: Red Wings defenseman Kyle Quincey will be out four to six weeks. Quincey has multiple fractures but there is no decision on surgery yet.
  • Ansar Khan via twitter: Red Wings forward Darren Helm hopes it is only a minor setback. There is no decision on whether he’ll go on the Californian trip or not.
  • Ansar Khan via twitter: Red Wings winger Todd Bertuzzi (disc issues) skated for five minutes last week and didn’t feel good. He’s still hoping to avoid surgery.
