- Harvey Fialkov of the Sun Sentinel: Panthers Erik Gudbranson had orbital bone surgery and could be out for two to three weeks.
- Eric Gilmore of NHL.com: Sharks Tomas Hertl will have surgery on his right knee next week. He was originally expected to be out a month, but a more definitive timetable will be known after his surgery.
