  • Andy Strickland via twitter: Blues goalie Jaroslav Halak pulled himself out of Monday’s game for concerns that his injury wasn’t fully healed. He doesn’t want it to linger throughout the season.
  • Mark Lazerus of the Chicago Sun-Times: Blackhawks Daniel Carcillo started skating last week and could return to action soon. Steve Montador (concussion) and Rostislav Olesz (knee) skated before yesterday’s practice. Carcillo was playing with Jonathan Toews and Marian Hossa when he got hurt, but Brandon Saad has moved into that spot and is playing well.
  • Damian Cristodero of the Tampa Bay Times: Lightning Ryan Malone could miss 3 to 4 weeks with an undisclosed lower-body injury and was put on the IR retroactive to Sunday.
