- Chip Alexander: Hurricanes GM Jim Rutherford said they are “keeping fingers crossed” that Alex Semin and Elias Lindholm will be ready for the opener. Tim Gleason and Tuomo Ruutu won’t play.
- Rich Chere: The Devils put Mattias Tedenby on the non-roster IR.
- Tom Gulitti: The Devils put Patrick Elias on the IR, and is backdated to last Tuesday, when the injury occurred. GM Lou Lamoriello on if Elias will be able to play in the opener.
