- Jim Diamond: Wild goalie Niklas Backstrom was injured when Eric Nystrom collided with him. Josh Harding came in to replace him.
- Harvey Fialkov: Panther goalie Tim Thomas left the game with a lower-body injury. George Richards: The Panthers are saying it’s a slight groin pull and that Scott Clemmensen is on his way back to the team.
- Erik Erlendsson of the Tampa Bay Tribune: Lightning forward Tom Pyatt broke his collarbone in the third period.
