Elliott Pap: James Duthie on TSN said that Roberto Luongo had an MRI on his ankle and that “early indications are not serious.” Dan Murphy: Hearing that the specialist has confirmed that there is no real damage to Luongo’s ankle. Sounding like he could be able to start skating once he’s pain free. Renaud Lavoie: Luongo should be out for seven to 14 days.
Helene St. James: Red Wings Johan Franzen has been cleared to practice. He’s been out with a concussion since Dec. 15th. He’s possible for the weekend.
Bob McKenzie: Hearing that Sharks Logan Couture has an injury issue, but sense is that he should be okay for the Olympics. David Pollak: Confirms that Couture has an injury. He’s basically been off the ice except for games. Pierre LeBrun: Couture will have surgery tomorrow on his hand and is expected to miss three to four weeks. Olympics are still a possibility.
Colorado Avalanche: Alex Tanguay skated this morning and the session went well. He is scheduled to skate again today.
Brian Wilde: Canadiens Ryan White will be out two weeks.
Roger Millions: Flames David Jones suffered an eye injury on Friday and could be out for a while.
Mike Chambers: Avalanche defenseman Nate Guenin is out with an ankle injury.
Brent Wallace: Senators Chris Neil will travel with the team, with hope that he’ll be ready by the end of the trip.
Damian Cristodero: Lightning’s Ben Bishop is listed as day-to-day. He said that he was originally hurt by a pregame shot and re-aggravated it when his stick got caught between Johnson’s legs.
