  • Michael Russo: Wild’s Mikko Koivu had ankle surgery and will be out for at least a month.
  • Elliott Pap: James Duthie on TSN said that Roberto Luongo had an MRI on his ankle and that “early indications are not serious.” Dan Murphy: Hearing that the specialist has confirmed that there is no real damage to Luongo’s ankle. Sounding like he could be able to start skating once he’s pain free. Renaud Lavoie: Luongo should be out for seven to 14 days.
  • Helene St. James: Red Wings Johan Franzen has been cleared to practice. He’s been out with a concussion since Dec. 15th. He’s possible for the weekend.
  • Bob McKenzie: Hearing that Sharks Logan Couture has an injury issue, but sense is that he should be okay for the Olympics. David Pollak: Confirms that Couture has an injury. He’s basically been off the ice except for games. Pierre LeBrun: Couture will have surgery tomorrow on his hand and is expected to miss three to four weeks. Olympics are still a possibility.
  • Colorado Avalanche: Alex Tanguay skated this morning and the session went well. He is scheduled to skate again today.
  • Brian Wilde: Canadiens Ryan White will be out two weeks.
  • Roger Millions: Flames David Jones suffered an eye injury on Friday and could be out for a while.
  • Mike Chambers: Avalanche defenseman Nate Guenin is out with an ankle injury.
  • Brent Wallace: Senators Chris Neil will travel with the team, with hope that he’ll be ready by the end of the trip.
  • Damian Cristodero: Lightning’s Ben Bishop is listed as day-to-day. He said that he was originally hurt by a pregame shot and re-aggravated it when his stick got caught between Johnson’s legs.
  • Damian Cristodero: Lightning’s Valtteri Filppula and J.T. Brown could return against the Jets. Brown’s right shoulder injury is more questionable.
  • Mike Heika: Islanders Evgeni Nabokov left last night’s game. He originally tried to stay in, but had to leave. NY Islanders: The Islanders put Nabokov on the IR with a lower-body injury and recall Anders Nilsson on an emergency basis.
  • Brian Wilde: Canadiens Carey Price confirmed he tweaked his groin a bit in the first.
  • Aaron Portzline: Blue Jackets Fedor Tyutin suffered a charley-horse.
  • Dave Isaac: Flyers Michael Raffl might return tonight.
