Langenbrunner on the move soon? New lines in LA … Beauchemin-Setoguchi rumor a fabrication … Tarasenko N.A. bound next year … Clouston day-to-day

  • Mark Everson of the NY Post: Lou Lamoriello may be getting closer to asking Jamie Langenbrunner if he’d waive his no-trade clause. It may be soon rather than later, with Langenbrunner the Devil most teams are targeting. The LA Kings and SJ Sharks could be the leading candidates for Langenbrunner, but Eastern teams such as the Capitals, Penguins, and Bruins could also be in the mix.
  • Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch: Yesterday Mike Commodore asked the Blue Jackets to trade him, and they put Kyle Wilson on waivers. Sources have said that GM Scott Howson has been one of the busiest GM’s looking for a trades in recent days. Ethan Moreau is likely headed to the IR, freeing up 2 roster spots. There is the possibility that they claim Marc-Andre Bergeron off waivers from the Lightning.
  • Helene Elliot of the LA Times: Loser of 4 straight, the Kings are shaking up their lines. 1st line is now Wayne Simmonds, Anze Kopitar and Dustin Brown. Marco Surm, Jarret Stoll and Kyle Clifford make up the 2nd line. Ryan Smyth, Michael Handzus and Justin Williams are on the 3rd line. The 4th line is Brad Richardson, Trevor Lewis and Kevin Westgarth.
  • Darren Dreger via twitter: Brian Burke said the Francois Beauchemin – Devin Setoguchi trade rumor is a complete fabrication. Dreger noted to me that it was never discussed, not once.
  • Andy Strickland of True Hockey: “Sources say that once his season is over Tarasenko will be in position to buyout the remaining year left on his KHL deal before officially signing an NHL contract with the St. Louis Blues.” He could head over to North America and play in the AHL on a pro tryout contract. If he plays in the World Championship, he may not come over. It doesn’t make sense for him to suit up for the Blues, possibly burning a year of his entry level contract. Sources told Strickland that Tarasenko still wants to play in North America next year.
  • Ken Warren of the Ottawa Citizen: Cory Clouston’s days as the Senators head coach could be numbered,
“I’m not going to answer a question like that, because I don’t know,” Murray said, when asked if Clouston would finish the season. “We go to Chicago (Friday). We come home and play Tampa (Saturday). We go on the road the following week. I can’t answer that honestly and I’ve talked to the (coaching) staff about that. We’re all in a position where we have to do a better job.”
