- ESPN: Pierre LeBrun: The Wild were in on Ryan Johansen, they are interested in Jonathan Drouin, and GM Chuck Fletcher has “other irons in the fire.” It’s not easy to make impact trades in a salary cap league.
- Scott Burnside: The Wild need a scoring center.
- Craig Custance: Fletcher has been trying to make a trade for months.
- Joe MacDonald: Some think the Wild could be interested in Bruins Loui Eriksson, but that is unlikely. Sure he’d help the Wild, but Fletcher isn’t interested in a rental player. They kicked tires on Drouin, but that interest faded. Wonder if the Canadiens would dangle Alex Galchenyuk and if Fletcher would bite on it.
On the Montreal Canadiens …
- John Lu: Michel Therrien said that Carey Price is not into the next stage of his rehab. There is no updated timeline for his potential return.
- Chris Nichols of Today’s Slapshot: Elliotte Friedman on the Carey Price injury. Though it hasn’t been confirmed, Friedman thinks Price’s injury is a MCL sprain of his right knee. The Canadiens haven’t said anything.
