On the Montreal Canadiens …
- Jimmy Murphy: Can confirm that the Canadiens are listening to offers (not shopping) on Max Pacioretty and everyone else except P.K. Subban and Carey Price.
- Jimmy Murphy: Teams that might be interested in Pacioretty: Red Wings, Predators, Panthers, Blackhawks, Islanders, Devils and Rangers.
- Jimmy Murphy: Would think that if the Canadiens were to trade Pacioretty, it is more likely to happen at the draft.
- Chris Nichols of Today’s Slapshot: Darren Dreger on TSN 690 on the Montreal Canadiens and Alex Galchenyuk.
“Yeah, just rumor. And again, let’s be careful with how this information is dissected. Galchenyuk’s name is out there, but only in the sense of a wonder. Teams wondering if Bergevin would consider something like that. Because he’s still a project. He’s still a developing player. Is he a center? Is he a winger? What is he? I think that’s what Michel Therrien has tried to find out. Has he had enough opportunity in playing center ice for anyone to fully determine that? I think the answer is no.
“So when managers see that, yeah, they’ll call and say, ‘Is he a fit in Montreal or isn’t he.’ Would you consider including him if we did something like this.’
- Chris Nichols of Today’s Slapshot: Dreger on TSN 690 on Dale Weise.
“I will say this. As of last night, the sense I was getting – there’s no contract discussion going on, but it sounds like there might be a little bit of back and forth happening, where the Canadiens are circling back and asking a few questions, if you will. Not negotiating yet, but asking questions.
“So maybe they see the character in Dale Weise, as they always have, and are a little bit worried about moving a piece like that out for a third round draft pick. So we’ll see.”
