On PTOs …

Erik Erlendsson: The Tampa Bay Lightning made 24 cuts yesterday, including releasing defenseman James Wisniewski who was on a PTO.

Chris Johnston: The Arizona Coyotes released forward Zach Boychuk from his PTO.

On the Calgary Flames …

Aaron Vickers: Flames center Sean Monahan on his back injury: “If it was the season and something like this was going on I’d probably be playing. Right now there’s no timeline.”

Wes Gilbertson: Monahan said that he hasn’t dealt with any setback with his back strain. They are just being cautious with it. He skated with the main group yesterday.

On the Columbus Blue Jackets …

Aaron Portzline: Blue Jackets defenseman Cody Goloubef will be out for a few days. GM Jarmo Kekalainen wouldn’t say if it’s an upper- or lower-body injury.

On the Los Angeles Kings …

Curtis Zupke: Kings GM Dean Lombardi said that Nick Shore is day-to-day with an undisclosed injury and added that it’s “nothing major.:

On the Washington Capitals …

JJ Regan: Capitals forward Tom Wilson is taking limited contact and won’t be able to play tonight.

On the St. Louis Blues …

Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch: Blues forward Ty Rattie and coach Ken Hitchcock said he was okay after taking a shoulder to the head from Blackhawks defenseman Niklas Hjalmarsson.

“Everybody is fine, we’re fine,” Blues coach Ken Hitchcock said when asked about Rattie’s status.

Hjalmarsson will have a hearing with the Player Safety Department for the hit.

On the Edmonton Oilers …

Jack Michaels: Oilers coach Todd McLellan said that Iiro Pakarinen will be out at least a month and Brandon Davidson is day-to-day.
