  • TSN: Contract talks between the Canadiens and Andrei Markov continue.

“I can’t say much, we agreed not to say much, but talks are ongoing and Andrei wants to stay in Montreal,” agent and former NHL player Sergei Berezin told TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun on ESPN.com on Friday. “We’ll see where it goes. He’s played 13 seasons with Montreal. He wants to finish his career in Montreal.”

Tony Marinario of TSN Radio 690 reported the Canadiens offered Markov a one-year, $6 million deal. Bob McKenzie said the Canadiens are flexible on a one or two-year deal.

  • David Pagnotta: Andrei Markov wants to remain with the Canadiens. Both sides continue to work on an extension.
  • Katie Strang: The Rangers and Ryan Callahan’s camp have talked the past few days, but there isn’t much report.
  • Wayne Scanlan: Senators Chris Phillips admits that it’s more stressful for him this year leading up to the deadline as he doesn’t have a no-movement clause this year. Bruce Garrioch: Phillips is representing himself.
  • Craig Custance: The Sabres would be interested in bringing Steve Ott back when free agency starts.
