  • Nick Kypreos via twitter: Penguins James Neal will have 2 separate disciplinary hearings tomorrow. Aaron Asham will have an in-person hearing at 11 am. Dan Rosen via twitter: Neal’s hearings are for his hit on Sean Couturier and his charging on Claude Giroux.
  • Joe Yerdon via twitter: Brendan Shanahan said he was close to giving Shea Weber a 1 one game suspension, but Red Wings GM Ken Holland told him that Henrik Zetterberg was okay, and it changed his mind.
  • Nick Cotsonika via twitter: If the Rangers are going to appeal Carl Hagelin’s suspension, they’ll have to do it before tonight. Shanahan won’t reduce Hagelin’s suspension after the fact based on whether Daniel Alfredsson will be able to play or not.
  • Bruce Garrioch via twitter:  Senators coach Paul MacLean confirms that Daniel Alfredsson passed his baseline test, and if he’s ready, he’ll play. Brent Wallace via twitter: Alfredsson confirms that he suffered a concussion on the hit.
  • Bob Duff via twitter: A NHL executive: “Colin Campbell always did what he thought was right and didn’t worry about what people thought. Shanahan just wants to be liked.”
  • Arthur Staple via twitter: The Islanders have let assistant coaches Dan Chynoweth and Scott Allen go.
  • Josh Cooper via twitter: Predators defenseman Hal Gill took part in his first full practice this series.
  • Stephen Whyno via twitter: Capitals lines: Ovechkin-Laich-Brouwer, Johansson-Backstrom-Semin, Chimera-Beagle-Perreault, Aucoin-Hendricks-Ward.
