NHL: Chris Pronger has joined the NHL Department of Player Safety.

NHL Player Safety: On why Radko Gudas was not suspended for his hit on Scottie Upshall: Per Rule 48: “When determining whether contact with an opponent’s head was avoidable, the circumstances of the hit shall be considered.” .. Upshall assumed a posture that made head contact on an otherwise full-body check unavoidable. Also, contact was in immediate aftermath of Gudas playing puck.”
John Shannon: The Barroway Group and the Arizona Coyotes have signed documents for 51 percent ownership of the team. Ken Wiebe: The deal still needs approval from the Board of Governors. Chris Johnston: The Coyotes were bought in August of 2013 for $170 and now just sold 51 percent for $155 million. Sean Gentille: LeBlanc: “There is no discussion, there has never been a discussion about the movement of this franchise.” Called it “nauseating.” There are nine owners who have shares in the team. Craig Morgan: LeBlanc said that the Coyotes have had losses but the numbers that have been out there are incorrect (rumors of $24 million) and that the losses are about what they had expected.
