On the Boston Bruins …
Boston Bruins: Forward Ryan Spooner tore his right groin adductor and is expected to be out for four to six weeks.
Fluto Shinzawa: Goaltender Tuukka Rask left practice early yesterday after Anders Bjork crashed into him. Rask needed help getting off the ice. Coach Bruce Cassidy didn’t provide an update on Rask. Bjork received some stitches on his chin.
“He’ll get evaluated,” Cassidy said. “I’ve got nothing on that now. Hopefully he’s fine.”
Forward Patrice Bergeron was able to get through their full practice and hasn’t been ruled out for tonight. He was skating with Bjork and Brad Marchand.
Forward David Backes (diverticulitis) is getting closer to returning.
Joe McDonald: The Bruins have recalled goaltender Zane McIntyre as a precaution.
On the Anaheim Ducks …
Eric Stephens of the OC Register: Both Hampus Lindholm and Sami Vatanen took part in all drills in yesterday’s practice. Both appear to be ahead of schedule.
Lindholm could be ready to return on Friday against the Canadiens.
“I played in the playoffs with an injured shoulder,” Lindholm said. “I could have said I could have played a month ago but then I probably could have gotten hurt.
“It’s not about me. I’ve already shown that I can play with a hurt shoulder. It’s more about if I play and if the worst-case scenario (happen), that I still know that the shoulder won’t fall apart.”
Vatanen isn’t ready for Friday, but he could be good to go during their four-game road trip that starts on Tuesday against the Flyers.
Goaltender Ryan Miller may not get the start, but he should at least dress for the Ducks on Friday as his wrist injury appears to be healed.
Forward Ondrej Kase could return after missing three games with a head injury.
Forwards Ryan Getzlaf and Patrick Eaves are still out with lower-body injuries. They are hopeful that Getzlaf can practice today.
