Krug to be re-evaluated in three weeks

Matt Kalman: The Boston Bruins said that defenseman Torey Krug will have his left ankle injury re-evaluated in three weeks. Krug said that his skate was in a rut in the ice when he got hit. Krug added that he knew something wasn’t right immediately.

Matt Kalman: Bruins forward Patrice Bergeron took contact at practice yesterday and he will practice again today. Looking like he might be able to go on Wednesday for their season opener. Matt Grzelcyk didn’t fully participate in practice yesterday but believes that he’ll be ready for Wednesday.

Crawford practices

Eric Lear: Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Corey Crawford practiced yesterday for the first time this year.

Darling’s status should be known today

Chip Alexander: Carolina Hurricanes owner Tom Dundon said they will know more about goaltender Scott Darling‘s lower-body injury today. He thinks that it’s not long-term/”not catastrophic.”

Johnson’s status 50/50

Bryan Burns: Tampa Bay Lightning coach Jon Cooper said that Tyler Johnson‘s status for opening night is 50/50. Cooper was optimistic that Nikita Kucherov would be able to go.

Wilson has surgery

Die By The Blade: Buffalo Sabres forward Scott Wilson will be out indefinitely after surgery to repair a fractured ankle.

Kase out for precautionary reasons

Elliotte Teaford: Anaheim Ducks forward Ondrej Kase was held out of practice for the second consecutive day for precautionary reasons. Kase was accidentally kicked in the face over the weekend. Coach Randy Carlyle wouldn’t say what the precaution was.

Roussel could practice with the team this week

Farhan Lalji: Vancouver Canucks GM Jim Benning said that forward Antoine Roussel skated on his own yesterday and will visit a doctor today. They hope that he will be able to rejoin practice by the end of the week. There is no plan to send him on a conditioning stint in the AHL.

Demko in concussion protocol

Vancouver Canucks: Canucks GM Benning said that goaltender Thatcher Demko remains in concussion protocol.
