Miller suffers upper-body injury

Boston Bruins: Bruins defenseman Kevan Miller left last night’s game early with an upper-body injury.

Gaudreau okay

Eric Francis: Calgary Flames forward Johnny Gaudreau is fine after he went through concussion protocol after being hit by Charlie McAvoy.

Not a knee issue for Tkachuk

Bruce Garrioch: Ottawa Senators coach Guy Boucher said that Brady Tkachuk‘s injury is not a knee injury that had been previously reported.

No update on Zajac

Corey Masisak: The New Jersey Devils didn’t have an update on forward Travis Zajac.

Schneider still day-to-day

Mike Morreale: New Jersey Devils coach John Hynes on Cory Schneider: “We pushed him pretty hard again today. He’s day2day. We’re trying to push his workload semi-game-like, almost-game-like … just the quantity/volume of it to see how he responds. If he continues to respond, we’ll move forward. Nothing new as of today.”

Luongo’s rehab going nicely

Jameson Olive: Florida Panthers GM Dale Tallon said that Roberto Luongo is still a few weeks away but is “rehabbing nicely.”

Hendricks out a couple weeks, Eriksson Ek to the IR

Sarah McLellan: Minnesota Wild coach Bruce Boudreau said they are hopeful that Matt Hendricks will only be out for two or three weeks with a lower-body injury. Joel Eriksson Ek will be out this weekend. The Wild are hopeful that Marcus Foligno (illness) will be able to travel with the team.

Hyman takes stitches to his eye

Luke Fox: Toronto Maple Leafs forward Zach Hyman took eight stitches on the inside of his right eyelid after taking a high stick from Jake Guentzel: “Really scary. It’s right above my eye, so… lucky.”

Kopitar out again with an illness

Arthur Staple: Los Angeles Kings Anze Kopitar missed his second game in a row due to an illness.

Two Stars aren’t a 100 percent yet

Sean Shapiro: Dallas Stars coach Jim Montgomery on Valeri Nichushkin: “Val doesn’t feel like he’s there yet.”

Sean Shapiro: Stars defenseman Stephen Johns practice yesterday and did a couple more drills than was expected.
