Ferland dealing with an upper-body issue

Brett Finger: Bob McKenzie on NBCSN on Carolina Hurricanes Micheal Ferland: “Ferland has been banged up on and off all year, but he’s been playing through it… My understanding is that he did have an MRI to check on the upper-body (shoulder/arm) injury he’s been dealing with… It doesn’t look like there’s anything major there…”

Cogliano to return

Mark Stepneski: Dallas Stars forward Andrew Cogliano will return to the lineup tonight. Forward Radek Faksa is doubtful.

Emergency recall for Gibson

Andrew Gross: The New York Islanders recalled Christopher Gibson on an emergency basis so Robin Lehner‘s availability seems in doubt.

Voracek could return to practice

Adam Kimelman: Philadelphia Flyers coach Scott Gordon said they are hopeful that Jakub Voracek can practice today. He suffered a fluke injury: “Puck that came around the boards & hit him in a funny spot. Won’t know any more until he sees the doctor. Just want to make sure there’s nothing worst then they original thought.”

No-contact jersey for Letang and no practice for Hornqvist

Jonathan Bombulie: Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Kris Letang practiced in a no-contact jersey.

Jonathan Bombulie: Forward Patric Hornqvist didn’t practice yesterday. He took a puck to the arm during Tuesday’s game but was able to finish.

Karlsson out for their homestand

Kevin Kurz: San Jose Sharks defenseman Erik Karlsson didn’t practice yesterday. It’s looking like he’ll be out for longer than a week.

Sheng Peng: Sharks coach Pete DeBoer said that Erik Karlsson is basically out for the remainder of their homestand.

Sheng Peng: Sharks forward Evander Kane said that him missing time isn’t due to the headshot from Bruins Zdeno Chara.

Gardiner still week-to-week

Michael Traikos: Toronto Maple Leafs GM Kyle Dubas said defenseman Jake Gardiner remains week-to-week with two separate injuries.

Haula’s been skating

Jesse Granger: Vegas Golden Knights coach Gerard Gallant confirmed that forward Erik Haula has been skating a couple of times a week.

That is a good sign that he could return before the end of the season.
