Bruins without Chara and Bergeron for a month

Joe Haggerty of NBC Sports Boston: Boston Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara will be out at least a month with an MCL injury in the left knee.

Forward Patrice Bergeron will be out at least a month after suffering a rib/sternoclavicular injury after he crashed into the boards during their last game.

Bishop likely out a week

Matthew DeFranks: Dallas Stars GM Jim Nill said that goaltender Ben Bishop is expected to be out about a week with a muscle strain: “As good as can be. One week’s better than four weeks, that’s all I know.”

Trocheck has “significant damage” to his leg

TSN: Darren Dreger reported that Florida Panthers forward Vincent Trocheck will be out long-term as he requires surgery on his leg to repair “significant damage.”

Juulsen has a facial fracture

Matt Cudzinowski of Canadiens.com: Montreal Canadiens defenseman Noah Juulsen will be out indefinitely with due a facial fracture that occurred during Monday’s game.

Subban still not practicing with the team

Paul Skrbina of the Tennessean: Nashville Predators defenseman P.K. Subban has missed the past three games with an upper-body injury. He’s eligible to come off the IR today but hasn’t practiced with the team since in the injury.

Predators GM David Poile said that Subban is making progress but may be out a little longer.

“I’m not trying to be evasive here, but hopefully it’s not too much longer,” Poile told the radio station.

Zuccarello still dealing with a groin issue

Brian Heyman: New York Rangers forward Mats Zuccarello is still bothered by his groin injury and will miss their game against the Islanders.

Hischier should return tonight

Mike Morreale: New Jersey Devils forward Nico Hischier will likely return to the lineup tonight after missing the past four games with a thumb injury.

Crosby could return tonight

Jason Mackey: Pittsburgh Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin was given a maintenance day yesterday. It’s sounding like forward Sidney Crosby could return to the lineup tonight.

Orpik has knee surgery

Isabelle Khurshudyan of the Washington Post: Washington Capitals defenseman Brooks Orpik will be out for another four to six weeks after having surgery on his right knee.
