On the Montreal Canadiens …
- Arpon Basu: P.K. Subban is traveiling with the team but won’t play tonight.
On the Ottawa Senators …
- Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Citizen: Defenseman Dion Phaneuf blocked a Brooks Orpik shot earlier this week and was not able to go last night due to a lower-body injury.
On the New Jersey Devils …
- Tom Gulitti of the Record: Cory Schneider practiced on Tuesday and could be on track to return within the next week. He’s been ruled out for tonight and Friday, and unlikely for Sunday.
“The next two games, for sure, he’ll be out and then we’ll see after that,” Hynes said. “But, we’re not planning on him playing this week, including Sunday.”
Their next game after that is Tuesday against the Bruins.
“On the scale of injuries, it’s pretty far down there and one that I feel I can feel pretty comfortable coming back from,” Schneider said. “If it’s a more severe injury, you might be a little more hesitant or cautious, but right now I’m not even really thinking about it. There’s no pain, so I think in the grand scheme of things I was pretty fortunate.”
