Two injured Ducks goalies not ready yet

Elliott Teaford: Anaheim Ducks coach Bob Murray said that goaltender Ryan Miller isn’t ready and John Gibson still isn’t able to practice.

Kempe still bothered by an upper-body injury

Craig Morgan: Arizona Coyotes center Mario Kempe wasn’t able to go last night because of his upper-body injury.

Pastrnak out at least two weeks

Eric Russo of BostonBruins.com: Forward David Pastrnak will be out for at least two weeks after having a tendon procedure done on his left thumb. Pastrak fell late Sunday night after a team function.

“I’ll have the specifics later, but feels comfortable in saying that in two weeks we’ll have a much better timeline on what it’s gonna take,” said Sweeney. “From a rehab standpoint, there’s really nothing. He’ll be able to skate within 10 days, so conditioning won’t be an issue. Just a matter of the stitches and infection-wise to make sure he doesn’t have any issues in that regard.”

Mittelstadt day-to-day

John Vogl: Buffalo Sabres coach Phil Housley said that forward Casey Mittelstadt is day-to-day with a lower-body injury.

Mike Sawatzky: Florida Panthers defenseman Dmitry Kulikov, who has been out with an upper-body injury, practiced yesterday in a regular practice jersey.

Bryon not traveling with the Canadiens

John Lu: Montreal Canadiens coach Claude Julien said that forward Paul Byron isn’t traveling with the team on their three-game road trip. The Canadiens are hoping they will get some good news on Byron when they get back on Monday.

Anderson takes a tennis ball to the eye

Bruce Garrioch: Ottawa Senators goaltender Craig Anderson missed last night’s game after taking a tennis ball to the eye yesterday. He is traveling with the team.

Coleman out last night

Amanda Stein: New Jersey Devils forward Blake Coleman out last night with an upper-body injury.

Elliott on a conditioning stint

Adam Kimelman: The Philadelphia Flyers have sent goaltender Brian Elliott to the AHL on a conditioning stint.

Maatta to the IR

Pittsburgh Penguins: The Penguins put defenseman Olli Maatta on the IR with an upper-body injury. He’ll be out indefinitely.

Cernak has a lower-body injury

Bryan Burns: Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Erik Cernak has a lower-body injury and is day-to-day. Defenseman Jan Ruuta has been recalled and Mathieu Joseph has been assigned to the AHL.

Sutter to the IR

David Pagnotta: Vancouver Canucks put forward Brandon Sutter on the IR. He was undergoing testing yesterday to determine the full extent of his lower-body injury.
