Flames waiting for updates on several players
Ryan Pike: Calgary Flames forward Sam Bennett was to get x-rays on his arm after blocking a shot.
Coach Bill Peters didn’t have an update on Michael Frolik and his lower-body injury.
Peters was also waiting to get injury updates on a couple other players as well.
Rask activated
Carolina Hurricanes: The Hurricanes have activated forward Victor Rask from the IR.
Trocheck undergoes successful surgery
Florida Panthers: Panthers GM Dale Tallon said that forward Vincent Trocheck had surgery yesterday to repair his fractured ankle and will be out indefinitely.
“Vinny is a tremendous competitor and leader for our club,” said Tallon. “It’s never easy to see a player and person like him suffer an injury like this, but we are confident that he will make a full recovery and be back on the ice with our team this season.”
Kempe leaves in the first
Jon Rosen of LA Kings Insider: Los Angeles Kings forward Adrian Kempe was injured in the first period last night after a collision with Avs Matt Nieto. Coach Willie Desjardins:
“I’m not sure. I’m hoping it’s not long,” he said. “I don’t think it’s going to be long, but you can’t tell until the next morning exactly how it goes overnight, so we’ll have to wait to see.”
Foligno improving but not there yet
Sarah McLellan: Minnesota Wild forward Marcus Foligno said that is his leg is a lot better but he’s not good enough to get back into the lineup yet.
Three injured Blues practice
Jeremy Rutherford: St. Louis Blues defenseman Carl Gunnarsson (upper-body) was able to practice yesterday.
