De La Rose had a cardiac episode over the weekend

Montreal Canadiens: Forward Jacob De La Rose won’t travel with the team after having a cardiac episode. He hasn’t been cleared to travel and will remain in Montreal for further evaluation.

John Lu: The episode happened after the Canadiens game last Saturday according to the team.

Arpon Basu: “To be clear, Canadiens say De la Rose’s condition is not serious, this is more precautionary in nature. The episode happened after the final preseason game in Ottawa and team medical staff didn’t want to take any chances. He will be placed on IR.”

Kase out indefinitely

Anaheim Ducks: The Anaheim Ducks have lost forward Ondrej Kase to a concussion that he suffered in their final preseason game. There is no timetable for when he’ll be able to return to the line. Brian Gibbons has been cleared to play after suffering a bone bruise during the preseason.

Schneider to the IR

Chris Ryan: New Jersey Devils goaltender Cory Schneider will start the season on the IR.

Ladd could be back to practicing today

New York Islanders: Islanders GM Lou Lamoriello on Andrew Ladd: “Ladd has been skating and he could resume practice tomorrow. We’ll know more about how he feels first thing in the morning, but odds are he’ll be practicing with the team.”

David Pagnotta: Islanders Andrew Ladd will be on the ice regularly. If he suffers any setbacks, it might mean he’d be out for an extended period of time.

No contact for Johnson and Callahan

Bryan Burns: Both Tyler Johnson and Ryan Callahan practiced in no-contact jerseys yesterday.

Green out a month

Ansar Khan: Detroit Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill said that defenseman Mike Green will likely miss the first month of the season because of the illness. Defenseman Niklas Kronwall will miss their season opener. Defenseman Jonathan Ericsson is very questionable and Trevor Daley is very likely to play.

Johns to the IR

Sean Shapiro: Dallas Stars Stephen Johns will start the season on the IR.

Tkachuk doubtful for Senators opener

Sens Communications: Ottawa Senators GM Pierre Dorion said Brady Tkachuk is doubtful (50/50) for their opener on Thursday. He has been dealing with a nagging, non-serious injury and they are just being cautious.

Darling to miss a couple weeks

Michael Smith: Carolina Hurricanes coach Rod Brind’Amour said that goaltender Scott Darling had an MRI yesterday and it revealed nothing major. He is expected to be out for “a couple weeks, for sure.”

Brind’Amour continued: “It’s a setback, no doubt, but that’s why we got Petr (Mrazek) in here.”

Seabrook out with an illness

Chicago Blackhawks: Defenseman Brent Seabrook missed practiced yesterday with flu-like symptoms.

Eakin to the IR

Las Vegas Review-Journal: The Vegas Golden Knights put forward Cody Eakin on the IR.
