On the New York Rangers …

Andrew Gross: Henrik Lundqvist stayed at the arena and didn’t go to the hospital after he took a stick to the eye area at the end of the first period. There was no immediate update and coach Alain Vigneault said that he’ll be re-evaluated today.

On the Minnesota Wild …

Minnesota Wild: Zach Parise and Thomas Vanek didn’t travel with the Wild to Dallas and are out for Games 1 and 2. Parise is out indefinitely with an upper-body injury.

Minnesota Wild: Vanek is week-to-week with an upper-body injury. Erik Haula is day-to-day with a lower-body injury. He’ll be traveling with the team to Dallas.

On the New York Islanders …

Laura Albanese: Defenseman Travis Hamonic had back to back practices. If feeling 100 percent and if the doctors clear him, he’ll play tonight.

On the Pittsburgh Penguins …

Seth Rorabaugh: Forward Beau Bennett didn’t take part in the Penguins morning skate.

Shawn McKenzie: Coach Mike Sullivan:  “When we decide to put Marc-Andre in the game we will let you know.”

On the Los Angeles Kings …

Shawn Roarke: Marian Gaborik and Alec Martinez practiced again yesterday. Gaborik was skating with the fourth line which involved three others.

On the Anaheim Ducks …

Curtis Zupke: Rickard Rakell, David Perron and Kevin Bieksa all practiced yesterday.

On the Dallas Stars …

Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News: Tyler Seguin will be ready to go for Game 1 tonight. He’s missed the past 10 games with an Achilles injury.  Mattias Janmark has missed the past three games with an upper-body injury is also ready to return.

“First is health,” Ruff said when asked what are the considerations for putting Seguin back in. “The first thing you consider is can he make a difference in the game and has he had enough practice time? That’s the most important thing, because it’s one thing to step out there and practice and get a couple full practices in, it’s another thing to step into a regular-season game and it’s even a step further to step inside a game that has the playoff intensity that we’re going to see tomorrow night.”

On the Tampa Bay Lightning …

Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times: Steven Stamkos had vascular surgery last week to fix a blood clot.  Some teammates visited him at the hospital on Monday. Stamkos isn’t giving up playing this year and had a message for teammates.

“You can tell he wants to be there (on the ice),” wing Alex Killorn said. “In the case he could come back, he really wants to make sure we go back to the final to give him a chance to play again this season. That was kind of his message, ‘Just go to the finals and maybe I’ll see you guys.’ “
