Lehner doesn’t come back for the third

Wes Crosby of NHL.com: New York Islanders goaltender Robin Lehner didn’t come out for the third period last night. Islanders coach Barry Trotz said that Lehner had a bit of “strain” and didn’t give any further update.

Letang misses last night’s game

Pittsburgh Penguins: Defenseman Kris Letang missed last night’s game with a lower-body injury.

Vanek out a couple weeks

Helene St. James: Detroit Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill said that forward Thomas Vanek will be out for two to three weeks. If the Red Wings will need to call up someone it will depend on if Andreas Athanasiou is available to go.

Nick Cotsonika: Red Wings Frans Nielsen missed last night’s game and will be out on Thursday.

Palat game to game

Tampa Bay Lightning: Lightning coach Jon Cooper said that forward Ondrej Palat didn’t suffer any setbacks but missed last night’s game and they’ll be taking it game by game.

Byron out with a lower-body injury

Stu Cowan: Montreal Canadiens forward Paul Byron left last night’s game with a lower-body injury.

McCabe has an upper-body injury

Mike Harrington: Buffalo Sabres defenseman Jake McCabe suffered an injury in the second period of Saturday’s game but did come back for the third. He didn’t practice yesterday due to an upper-body injury.

McAvoy to the IR

Joe Haggerty: The Boston Bruins have put defenseman Charlie McAvoy on the IR with an upper-body injury retroactive to Oct. 18t. He skated on his own on Saturday but didn’t skate on Monday. It sounds like there could have been a bit of a setback.

Thornton returns to the lineup

Eric Gilmore of NHL.com: San Jose Sharks forward Joe Thornton returned to the lineup last night after missing their past nine games with an infection in his right knee.

“I’m still going to be on some antibiotics and stuff like that,” he said. “It looks like is on its way out, so I get to play, which is nice.”

Andrighetto out with a lower-body injury

Adrian Dater: Colorado Avalanche forward Sven Andrighetto is week-to-week with a lower-body injury.

Tanev to the IR

Patrick Johnston: The Vancouver Canucks have put defenseman Chris Tanev on the IR and recalled Brendan Gaunce and Darren Archibald.

Radulov returns

Mike Heika: Dallas Stars forward Alexander Radulov returned to the lineup last night.
