On the Los Angeles Kings …

Lisa Dillman: The Kings hockey ops said that Jonathan Quick didn’t have surgery and has opted for a procedure that doesn’t involve surgery.

Lisa Dillman: Kings GM Dean Lombardi said that they are expecting Quick to be out “about 3 months.”

Kevin Woodley: Was informed that Quick’s surgery option would have had him out for the remainder of the season, with the procedure potentially keeping him out three months.

On the Montreal Canadiens …

Brian Wilde: Carey Price said he lost 7-8 pounds while out with the flu.

Jason York: Price said that he’s feeling good and hopes to be able to play tonight. He’ll see how he feels today.

On the New York Islanders …

Arthur Staple: Hearing that an Islanders defenseman has a potential injury. Will find out who it is and what his status is today.

New York Islanders: The Islanders have recalled defenseman Ryan Pulock on an emergency basis.

On the Vancouver Canucks …

Matthew Sekeres: If Ryan Miller is not able to be the backup tonight, the Canucks would put him on the IR. That would keep him out this weekend.

On the Philadelphia Flyers …

Dave Isaac: Forward Michael Raffl will be out 10 to 14 days with an “upper-body” injury.

On the Chicago Blackhawks …

Brian Hedger: Looking like Ryan Hartman will return to the lineup on Friday.

Scott Powers: Marian Hossa is day-to-day and questionable for Friday.

On the Boston Bruins …

Joe Haggerty: Forward Patrice Bergeron said he’ll see how he feels today to determine if he’ll play.

Steve Conroy: Defenseman Adam McQuaid remains on the IR, but is eligible to come off it at any time. When they activate him, they’ll need to send someone down.

On the New York Rangers …

Brett Cyrgalis: Coach Alain Vigneault said that Pavel Buchnevich is still out with back spasms. Kevin Klein will return to the lineup.

On the Dallas Stars …

Mark Stepneski: Forward Jiri Hudler is still sick and not expected to play tonight. Ales Hemsky is still not ready to return.

On the Pittsburgh Penguins …

Jonathan Bombulie of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review: Kris Letang (upper-body) and Conor Sheary (eye) are listed as day-to-day according to coach Mike Sullivan.

Goalie Matt Murray (broken hand) was taking part in practice yesterday for the first time since the injury.

“Today was probably the most I’ve pushed it, the most aggressive I’ve been with my stick in front of the net, that type of thing, and puck handling and making hard passes,” Murray said. “Tested it out pretty good today. It’s still sore. It’s going to be sore for a long time, but the strength is there. It feels pretty good.”

Sidney Crosby skated on his own yesterday, making it seven of the past nine days.

“He’s status quo,” Sullivan said. “He’s still day-to-day.”

Bob McKenzie: Murray will likely be able to return to lineup in the next couple of weeks.
