Kings Brown out indefinitely

Curtis Zupke: Los Angeles Kings forward Dustin Brown is out indefinitely with a broken finger.

Schneider won’t be ready for their opener

Steve Cangialosi: New Jersey Devils goaltender Corey Schneider is happy with his progress from hip surgery but he won’t be playing in Europe this week and won’t be ready for their opener.

Several Stars dealing with muscle strains

Sean Shapiro: Dallas Stars forward Valeri Nichushkin has a mild muscle strain and they are hopeful he’ll be ready for their season opener. They are also hoping Stephen Johns will be ready for their opener.

Sean Shapiro: Both goaltenders Anton Khudobin and Ben Bishop have mild muscle strains but are expected to be ready for their season opener.

Injured Red Wings defensemen could be ready for their opener

Dana Wakiji: Detriot Red Wings defenseman Mike Green won’t be ready for their season opener.

Defensemen Trevor Daley and Jonathan Ericsson are questionable. Both will practice Tuesday and Wednesday and then they’ll see if they are able to go.

Greg Krupa: Defenseman Danny DeKeyser should be ready for their opener. There is still no timetable on when Green will be able to return.

Sheary getting close

Joe Yerdon of The Athletic: Buffalo Sabres forward Conor Sheary returned to practice from his upper-body injury. He had been day-to-day and wasn’t able to get into any preseason games. He’s hopeful for their season opener.

“As long as everything trends that way, I think it should be in the possibility,” Sheary said. “But I’m going to take it each day at a time and see how I feel (Monday).”

Scott Wilson needed help from teammates to get off the ice after getting tangled up with Rasmus Ristolainen.

Defensemen Johan Larsson, Zach Bogosian, and Brandon Hickey are day-to-day.

Panthers injury updates

Jameson Olive of NHL.com: Florida Panthers defenseman Bogdan Kiselevich broke his jaw and took 40 stitches after taking a puck to the face during Saturday’s game.

“Kisser broke his jaw last night,” Boughner said. “He’s getting surgery this morning, probably as we speak. Tough kid. He wanted to know if he could put a cage on it and go back in the game… it looks like he’s probably going to start the season on IR.”

Kiselevich will be re-evaluated in two weeks

Defenseman Keith Yandle also left the game and is listed as day-to-day. They expect him to be able to practice this week. Yandle has an ironman streak of 715 games.

Defenseman Aaron Ekblad is day-to-day but is expected to be ready this week.

Defenseman MacKenzie Weeger is day-to-day and is expected to be cleared for contact by Wednesday.

Forward Michael Haley is day-to-day and is expected to be cleared for contact by Wednesday.
