Perry suffers a lower-body injury

Eric Stephens: Anaheim Ducks coach Randy Carlyle said that forward Corey Perry suffered a lower-body injury during warm-up and had to be scratched. No further update yet.

Crawford getting close to being able to practice

Mark Lazerus: Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Corey Crawford could return to practice by the end of this week. Coach Joel Quenneville said they are being cautious and that it would be a stretch if he’s ready for their season opener.

Forsling’s timeline still the same

Tracey Myers: Blackhawks coach Quenneville said that though Gustav Forsling had been doing some light work, his timeline to return in early November is still the same.

Updates on injured Coyotes centermen

Craig Morgan: Arizona Coyotes coach Rick Tocchet didn’t have much of an update on injured Alex Galchenyuk and Christian Dvorak. A Galchenyuk update should come in the next couple days. Laurent Dauphin is getting closer to being cleared for contact after his knee surgery.

Fabbri has a groin strain

Jim Thomas: St. Louis Blues forward Robby Fabbri will miss tonight’s game with a Grade 1 groin strain.

Jeremy Rutherford: The Blues will give Fabbri a couple days off according to coach Mike Yeo and will see where he’s at on Thursday.

Eakin will be off the ice for a few days

David Schoen: Vegas Golden Knights forward Cody Eakin didn’t practice yesterday, with coach Gerard Gallant saying it was “nothing serious” but he won’t be on the ice for “a few days.” Gallant when asked if Eakin will be ready for the season opener: “I sure hope so, but I don’t know.”

Johnson done for the preseason

Bryan Burns: Tampa Bay Lightning coach Jon Cooper said that forward Tyler Johnson will likely miss the remainder for the preseason because an injury, but they are hopeful that he’ll be ready for their season opener.

Leafs won’t rush Hyman

Terry Koshan: Toronto Maple Leafs coach Mike Babcock on Zach Hyman: “He is feeling way better. There is no sense rushing Hyman. We will take it on the slow side for sure.
