On the Montreal Canadiens …

  • Eric Engels: Canadiens coach Michel Therrien didn’t update Carey Price’s status, but he hasn’t given up home that Price will return before the end of the season.
  • Renaud Lavoie: P.K. Subban practiced yesterday in a no-contact jersey.
  • John Lu: P.K. Subban didn’t play last night, but coach Therrien is hopeful that he’ll be able to return on Thursday.
  • Renaud Lavoie: David Desharnais practiced yesterday in a no-contact jersey.

On the Colorado Avalanche …

  • Colorado Avalanche: Nathan MacKinnon and Matt Duchene will both be out with knee injuries for the next two games. They will be reevaluated after that.

On the Tampa Bay Lightning …

  • Erik Erlendsson: Valtteri Filppula practiced yesterday but in a no-contact jersey.
  • Bryan Burns: Ryan Callahan (lower-body) didn’t practice yesterday.
  • Erik Erlendsson: Vladislav Namestnikov is wearing a full face shield after taking a puck to the face on Saturday.

On the Edmonton Oilers …

  • Edmonton Oilers: Coach Todd McLellan didn’t have an update on Ryan Nugent-Hopkins after the game. He’ll be evaluated today in San Jose.

On the Chicago Blackhawks …

  • Chris Kuc: Goalie Corey Crawford is still day-to-day.

On the New York Rangers …

  • Andrew Gross: Rick Nash was sore yesterday morning according to Alain Vigneault and was given a maintenance day. He is expected to skate today.

On the Winnipeg Jets …

  • Ed Tait: Defenseman Tobias Enstrom will be having knee surgery on Thursday and is out indefinitely.
  • Paul Friesen: Coach Paul Maurice said that Enstrom has been dealing with his knee issue since November, but if they were in the playoff hunt, he’d be playing.

On the Anaheim Ducks …

  • Arpon Basu: David Perron flew back to Anaheim yesterday, with an update likely coming later today.

On the New Jersey Devils …

  • Tom Gulitti: David Schlemko is doubtful this week with an upper-body injury.
  • Tom Gulitti: Jon Merrill was looked at by the doctor yesterday and won’t play this week.
  • Tom Gulitti: Tyler Kennedy (lower-body) didn’t practice yesterday.

On the Ottawa Senators …

  • Ken Warren: Defenseman Chris Phillips hasn’t made any decisions about retirement. His priority is to get healthy enough to do things with his kids.

On the Toronto Maple Leafs …

  • Terry Koshan: Tyler Bozak is expected to return to the Leafs lineup on Thursday.

On the Arizona Coyotes …

  • Sarah McLellan: Nicklas Grossmann (lower-body) is able to return after missing their last game. Lindy Ruff: “We’ll wait on Russell. We want to make sure we are doing the right thing.” Mattias Janmark missed his fifth straight game with an upper-body injury. He might be ready for Thursday.

On the Dallas Stars …

Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News: Kris Russell was held out of last night’s game with a lower-body injury.

On the San Jose Sharks …

  • Kevin Kurz of CSN Bay Area: Defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic is listed as day-to-day with a lower-body injury, but he’s unlikely to be back in the lineup before end of their homestand which ends next week.

“I think everyone is positive he’s going to be back ,” DeBoer said. “The good news is with DeMelo playing the way he is, we don’t have to rush him and push him back in earlier than he needs to get back in. The key for him is that he’s healthy come playoff time, but he’ll be back before that.”

“I would term it day-to-day, but it could be a week, it could be 10 days.”
