On the Ottawa Senators …

Bruce Garrioch: Senators defenseman Mark Borowiecki won’t play tonight.

On the Anaheim Ducks …

Eric Stephens: The odds of Patrick Eaves playing are not looking good. He has a foot injury and hasn’t been able to skate yet.

On the Pittsburgh Penguins …

Sam Werner of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: Defenseman Trevor Daley is still out day-to-day according to coach Mike Sullivan.

Jesse Dougherty: When asked if he was checked out after crashing into the board, Sidney Crosby said: “Yeah, yeah… standard.”

Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: Captain Sidney Crosby reportedly said he was evaluated for a concussion. Coach Mike Sullivan said that Crosby wasn’t evaluated for a concussion.

Sam Werner asked Sullivan if he was concerned when Crosby was slow to get up and if he was evaluated for a concussion during the first intermission, Sullivan said “No. … No.”

Crosby said he had the wind knocked out of him.

“When you go in like that, it just kind of knocked the wind out of me,” Crosby said. “Kind of a fluky fall. Not one you want to take too often.”

The Penguins are scheduled to practice today at 12:15 and it’s closed to the public.

Here’s another look. 87 trips over Holtby’s stick, gets push from 74. In the words of Barry Trotz, just a “hockey play.” pic.twitter.com/PM9Rxv6GBS
