Still no timetable on Hunwick
Paul Hamilton: Buffalo Sabres defenseman Matt Hunwick said that all he could do until about a month ago was rest. He had wondered if his season was over. There is still no timetable on when he could return.
Girardi’s knee should be okay
Joe Smith: Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Dan Girardi said that he feels lucky that his knee injury wasn’t worse. It’s sore but overall it seems okay.
Hainsey takes a puck to the jaw
Kristen Shilton: Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Ron Hainsey left practice early after taking a puck to the jaw.
Coach Mike Babcock: “At first, to be honest with ya, I thought it was just a veteran move to get off the ice and out of skating. Then I realized he’s got to drive all over town to get sewn up. Bummer for him, but he’s alright.”
Gudbranson and Beagle skating … Roussel out
Ben Kuzma: Vancouver Canucks defenseman Erik Gudbranson (neck) and Jay Beagle (forearm) were back on the ice yesterday.
Patrick Johnston: Beagle’s estimated return date was December 1st.
Vancouver Canucks: Antoine Roussel missed last night’s game with an upper-body injury. He’ll be re-evaluated today.
Kuznetsov could return tonight
Isabelle Khurshudyan of the Washington Post: Washington Capitals forward Evgeny Kuznetsov took part in full practice yesterday and was working out with the power play. It’s looking like he’ll return to the lineup tonight after missing the past six games with a concussion.
Both Devante Smith-Pelly and Michal Kempny are expected to play as well.
T.J. Oshie still hasn’t been on the ice after he suffered a concussion on November 14th.
Byfuglien out with a concussion
