Thornton takes the ice … Couture injures his hand at practice
Kevin Kurz: San Jose Sharks center Joe Thornton was on the ice yesterday.
Kevin Kurz: DeBoer said that Thornton is doubtful for their next game and indicated that more time may be needed to make sure the infection does not return. Thorton may be doubtful for their two-game homestand.
Kevin Kurz: Sharks Kevin Labanc and Tomas Hertl were given maintenance days yesterday. Logan Couture left practice early yesterday, with no update from coach Pete DeBoer.
Paul Gackle: DeBoer said that Couture collided with a teammate and appeared to hurt one of his hands.
Getzlaf could return tonight
Mike Coppinger of the LA Times: Anaheim Ducks forward Ryan Getzlaf could return to the lineup tonight. Getzlaf has been out with a groin injury but has been skating the past four days.
Pettersson starts some off-ice workouts
Iain MacIntyre: Sportsnet reported that Elias Pettersson did a light workout on Monday and didn’t have any after-effects. Yesterday he did a little more strenuous workout. All good so far.
Radulov should be okay
Matthews DeFranks: Dallas Stars coach Jim Montgomery said that Alex Radulov tweaked something during the game last night but should be fine.
Galchenyuk cleared for contact
Craig Morgan: Arizona Coyotes GM John Chayka said that forward Alex Galchenyuk has been cleared for contact. There is still no timetable on when he could return. Galchenyuk took part in their morning skate yesterday.
No update on Butcher
Chris Ryan: New Jersey Devils coach John Hynes didn’t give an update on defenseman Will Butcher.

Schwartz updates his injury
Lou Korac: St. Louis Blues Jaden Schwartz: “I felt OK today. I was moving around a little bit better than I thought. That’s always a good sign. … It’s doing better than it did a few days ago. Still kind of taking it day by day but it feels a lot better than it did Friday.”
